osu!era

era describes itself as a private osu! server with multiple performance point eras, leaderboards, ranked maps and custom patcher support. The idea, as the site summarises it, is that players can compete under different pp calculation rules from different periods of the game rather than only the current formula, which appeals to people who enjoy comparing how the same scores were valued over time.

The website is a single-page application that depends on JavaScript, so most details are in its documentation pages. The public API reported just over a hundred registered accounts, and the Discord invite we checked, labelled beta, showed a few dozen members, so this is a small and early-stage project that may change quickly. Players who want a large active ladder should look elsewhere, whereas those curious about era-specific rankings will find a rare concept here.

As with any beta, confirm the current connection steps in the Discord before downloading the patcher.
