About August
August is a free-to-play custom server that describes itself as a game of its own rather than a copy of an existing revision. Its site highlights the Olympian Raids, where players fight the Greek gods Apollo, Poseidon and Hephaestus, and a custom talent tree that changes how characters are built. Several game modes are offered so players can pick a style of progression.
Worlds are hosted in the US, Europe and Oceania, which helps with latency for players outside North America. The client ships as a Windows installer or a universal jar with Java bundled and updates itself, and there is a wiki, a vote page and a single account system covering the game and vote rewards. The Discord is large, with several thousand members and over two thousand online when checked, so it is one of the more populated community hubs among the servers listed here.
The site does not state an exact client revision, so check the wiki and Discord for details about what content is based on Old School.
