What is a Travian private server?
A Travian private server is an independently run version of the browser-based strategy game in which players build villages, train troops and form alliances to compete for the Wonder of the World. These servers use clone or recreated game scripts and are hosted by independent teams rather than the official publisher.
Because Travian runs in a browser, there is usually nothing to install. You register on the server's website, choose a tribe and a starting quadrant, and begin building resource fields and your village centre just as in the original game.
Travian is a browser-based real-time strategy game in which each player starts with a single village, grows an economy of wood, clay, iron and crop, trains troops and joins alliances in a round that runs for months. A round ends when a player or alliance completes a Wonder of the World to level 100. Private servers exist because official rounds are slow and sometimes tied to gold purchases; independent operators run open-source clones such as TravianZ or customised engines with speed multipliers from x2 up to millions, free gold, or alternative rulesets like T3.6. These servers are not run or endorsed by Travian Games.

Travian versions explained
Almost every private server picks one version of the game and sticks to it, so the version decides which content, classes and mechanics you get. Use this table to match a version to the style you want, then filter the server list accordingly.
| Version | Period | What it is | Typical servers |
|---|---|---|---|
| T3.6 | 2009 onward | The classic ruleset with three playable tribes (Romans, Gauls, Teutons), artefacts and a Wonder of the World endgame, without the hero adventures of version 4. | Classic or slow rounds (x1-x5) and many fast-speed rounds; TravianZ and similar clones start here. |
| T4.x (4.0 to 4.6) | 2011-2021 | Adds the hero system with adventures and items, oases, and the Huns and Egyptians tribes in later updates. | Most speed servers from x100 to x1,000,000 advertise T4.4 or T4.6. |
| Legends-style 4.5.x/4.6 forks | 2020s | Private servers that follow official Legends mechanics such as hospital wounded troops and additional tribes (Spartans, Vikings in TravianZ v11). | Weekly or seasonal rounds with custom features. |
Travian rates and terms you will see
| Term | What it means | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| Speed (xN) | Multiplier applied to construction, training and often resource production; rounds with high speed finish in days. | Observed on checked servers from x3 up to x20,000,000 |
| Troop speed | Multiplier on troop movement, sometimes stated separately from world speed. | Observed x50 on a x100,000 world, x200 on a x1000 world |
| Start gold | Gold granted at registration on free-gold servers. | Observed 50 to 10,000 |
| Beginner protection | Period after registration in which you cannot be attacked. | Observed 1 day to 2 weeks |
| Natars timing | When the NPC Natar villages and artefacts appear; scaled with speed. | Observed 3 days on x150 to 1 year on x10 worlds |
Travian server types
| Type | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Classic slow (x1-x10) | Players who want months-long diplomacy and slow growth. | Few players and long idle periods; check recent round stats. |
| Weekly speed rounds | Players with a week free who want a complete round with artefacts and Wonder. | Rapid gold-driven advantage on some servers; read the gold policy. |
| Ultra speed (x10,000+) | Experienced players wanting full wars in a day or two. | Very small populations (often under a few dozen). |
| Season / prize-pool servers | Competitive players motivated by rewards. | Rewards funded by supporters; check disqualification and payment rules. |
| Local-language servers | Players who want chat and alliance in their language, such as Turkish or Arabic. | Less documentation in English. |

What each speed class looks like in practice
A speed number only becomes meaningful when you see the timeline it produces. These examples come from the listings on our Travian private servers page, and each shows the settings the server publishes itself.
| Server | Speed and setup | Stated timeline or protection |
|---|---|---|
| Nexian | Prime Realm at x6; Round 3 on a 150 by 150 map | Described as the first slow round with five tribes; patch v610 adds hero adventures, Natar World Wonder and oases |
| Zravian | x4, x10 and x150 servers | x4: one week protection, Natars after one month. x10: two weeks, Natars after a year. x150: one day, Natars after three days |
| Travix | Speed 1000x with troop speed 200x, 200 by 200 map | One day protection, artifacts on day two, World Wonder villages on day three, building plans on day four |
| Crusader Trav | x100,000 world, x50 troop movement | T3.6 with World Wonder endgame; small rounds, eight active players at our check |
| Imperija | Server 1 at x100; Server 2 at x3 on a 10 by 10 map | Server 2 opens on 1 November 2026 with separate hosting, so accounts do not carry over |
The pattern is consistent: the faster the world, the earlier the Natars and artifacts arrive. Zravian shows it clearly, scaling Natar timing from three days to a year. If you want to understand rate terms first, read our server rates post. Slower worlds such as Nexian's x6 Prime Realm suit players who want months of diplomacy, while the x100,000 worlds compress a whole war into days.
When new rounds open
Round schedules decide whether you can join at the start, which matters because early joiners shape alliances. Several operators publish a fixed rhythm.
| Server | Rhythm |
|---|---|
| GoTravSpeed | New T4 worlds every Saturday at 08:00 GMT; one account for all worlds |
| Travianspeed | New servers every Friday at 8 p.m. server time, lasting seven days |
| TR Travian | New servers every Friday and Sunday |
| Travix | Speed 1000x scheduled for 16 October 2026 at 12:00 |
| Travia.lt | Season pre-season at x20, launching 12 December 2026 at 19:00 Lithuanian time, with a 550 euro prize pool |
If a schedule shows no future round, the server may be between rounds or inactive. The speed servers page groups the weekly operators, and our status page checks availability daily.
Regional and language communities
Travian private servers are unusually language-driven because alliances coordinate in chat. Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew and Lithuanian communities each run their own servers.
| Language | Server | Details at our check |
|---|---|---|
| Turkish | TR Travian | 320 registered, about 95 online; new servers open Friday and Sunday |
| Turkish | Online Travian | About 1,500 registered, 23 online; T4.4 worlds at x200,000 to x1,000,000; start gold 10,000 on the fastest |
| Arabic and English | Travian Nova | T4.6 engine, free worlds from x100 to x10,000, custom buildings and events |
| Hebrew, English, Arabic | Travion | S1 T4.5 at x5, S2 T4.5 at x8, S3 T3.6 at x10; Operations Center for planning attack waves |
| Lithuanian and English | Travix and Travia.lt | Multiple speeds and a seasonal prize-pool game |
Language matters less for solo play than for alliance diplomacy, so choose the community you can talk to. Our glossary explains the terms used on these sites.
Pitfalls specific to Travian clones
- Unstated versions. TraviSpeed, Travianspeed and Zravian do not state which game version they run, so ask or test before investing time.
- Broken support links. Two listed servers showed an invalid Discord invite when we tested, so use the site's contact if one fails.
- Prizes with rules. Imperija says multi-accounting and bots lead to disqualification from rewards, and Online Travian says selling troops and resources is not done. Read the conditions before competing.
- Apps outside stores. Travian PVP distributes an Android APK; install only if you are comfortable with that, or use the browser or progressive web app.
- Tiny populations. Crusader Trav showed eight active players and Travian PVP 64 registered with none online.

How Travian private servers work
A private server is software that re-implements the game's back end so the official or a patched client can connect to it. For Travian the common building blocks are TravianZ (open source, PHP, GPL-3.0, T3.6 clone), Zravian engine, Custom T4.x engines (closed or private). TravianZ v11 requires PHP 8.3+, MariaDB/MySQL and Apache or Nginx per its repository; the project warns shared hosting can bottleneck because the game is query-heavy.
How private servers differ from the official game
Official Travian rounds can last months at standard speed, with gold features such as the Plus account, resource bonuses and instant completion offering paid convenience. Private servers often run faster speeds, shorter rounds and free or low-cost gold, which makes them attractive to players who want competitive rounds without a long commitment.
Some servers also change rules: larger starting protection, increased troop speed, custom artifacts or modified end-game conditions. Always read the server's rules page, because a small rule change can transform the strategy.
Speed, tribes and rounds
Speed multiplies production, construction and troop training. x1 servers recreate the classic pace, where planning and daily logins matter most. x3 and x10 servers compress the round into weeks, while very high-speed servers can reach the endgame in days and reward constant activity.
The classic tribes each suit a playstyle. Romans can upgrade resources and buildings at the same time and have strong, expensive troops. Gauls are defensive and fast, with traps and quick Theutates Thunder raiders. Teutons are aggressive raiders with cheap Clubswingers and strong offensive armies. Many servers also offer later tribes such as Egyptians and Huns.
Rounds end when an alliance completes a Wonder of the World to level 100, after Natar villages, artifacts and construction plans appear. When the round ends, the server wipes and a new one begins, so the start date of the next round matters when choosing a server.
How to choose a Travian server
Pick a speed that matches the time you can give. A high-speed server rewards players who can log in often; an x1 server suits those who check in a few times a day. Look at how many players are registered and active, and whether strong alliances have already formed in your quadrant.
Check the gold policy. Some servers give gold freely, others sell it, and others disable gold features entirely. Servers that sell large amounts of gold for instant troops or resources can be decided by spending rather than strategy. Also look at multi-account rules, sitter rules and how the staff enforce them, since multi-accounting is the most common way rounds are spoiled.
A strong opening
The first days of a round decide a lot. Focus on resource fields, keep your crop production positive, build a cranny to hide resources from raiders and use the beginner's protection period to prepare. Complete the early tasks or quests if the server offers them, since they often reward resources and troops.
Choose your neighbours carefully: settling near active, aggressive players is risky unless you plan to join their alliance. Found your second village as soon as you can afford settlers, because expansion multiplies production. Talk to nearby players and join an alliance early, since coordinated defence and diplomacy matter more than raw production later in the round.
Staying safe
Travian private servers are unofficial and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the official game's publisher. Register only on the server's own website, check the address carefully and avoid browser extensions or bots that claim to automate farming.
Use a unique password and email login, never share your account outside the server's official sitter system, and be careful with payment pages; only buy gold through methods linked from the server's official site.
